Saving energy is cause for celebration! Here at Haukkala & CO P.C we are aware of the increasing impact green house gases have on our environment. We know that although greenhouse gases do occur naturally, human activity contributes a great deal to greenhouse gas emissions. Your carbon footprint — or your impact on the environment — measures the greenhouse gases that you are responsible for creating. Common activities like using electricity and driving a car emit those gases. There are several ways to combat these changes such as recycling and using less electricity. With this knowledge we believe it is important for our business to continuously find new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and become more energy efficient.
One major step we are taking towards becoming carbon neutral and more energy efficient is participating in Michigan Battle of the Buildings. The Michigan Battle of the Buildings is an awards and recognition program for energy use reduction open to all Michigan area commercial, industrial & multi-family buildings. The program is a way to encourage energy-efficient practices in buildings across the state and to instill a spirit of friendly competition among the area’s building owners and operators. We are confident this will be a great education opportunity to learn more about the importance of renewable energy resources and energy efficiency.
